Sorry Doug, but if you are reading this, I hope that you get a laugh.
As Avery becomes better and better with the english language and can say more and more words, life will become quite a bit easier. She is quite adept with her animals and now has begun asserting her independence (as Colleen calls it), by not saying the the animal name, but saying the noise that the specific animal makes when she is asked “what animal is this?”
Yet tonight something amusing came out of our conversation about Uncle Doug. It was Avery chiming in in the middle of our conversation every time we said “Doug” with a “woof, woof.”
Now, she certainly understands that Doug is not a dog… or so we like to think, but they sound oh so similar. Now, when we need a laugh, we kindly ask Avery what Uncle Doug says, and Avery responds with a simple… “woof, woof.”
