Colleen and I decided to take Avery to the pool today. What else would you do on a Sunday of Memorial Day? We found out that going to the pool was not really a very novel idea.
As we moved from the car to the pool, Avery had the kung-fu death grip on Colleen… she really did not want to let go. Eventually she allowed Colleen to let her stand in the water, while still keeping a hold of of her shoulders. It took me sitting next to them to to get Avery comfortable enough to sit down in the water.

After about 5 minutes of sitting with me in the water, it was off to the races. Avery was walking, swimming, crawling around the pool on her own, having the time of her life. It was extremely difficult to drag her away from the pool. Everything was a novelty for her as she explored the kids pool.
We were quite surprised that Avery was able to crawl around with water up to her face. She took it in stride as any water that entered her mouth, she subsequently spit out. Nothing was going to float in her way.
