Yesterday was high maintenance.  Getting the chili made, the house ready for friends, and Avery.  The little one had a day of fun, firsts, and a full day of crankiness.

It started yesterday morning when Avery got to eat her first cookie.  Ok, maybe it was just a teether biscuit, but she loved it nonetheless.  With her teeth really coming in on the bottom, she has gotten quite a biting reflex and just went to town on the biscuit like a beaver chewing a log.

Then while watching tv yesterday, all Avery wanted to do was stand.  Colleen held her hands and Avery decided that she wanted to march across the room.  With Colleen steadying her and holding her hands, Avery proceeded to walk right across the basement – great – we just might be in for trouble.

Then came Avery’s decision to skip an afternoon nap and stay awake for almost five hours (granted she wanted to watch the football game).  In the future we might not care as much, but when staying awake for that long requires constant holding, but now – not so much fun.
