Last night we got another package of baby stuff from the Friedmans (to go with the surprise box of books from the other day). It is always a treat when a box marked with their return address arrives.

When we opened the box there was a giant foam alphabet puzzle mat for Avery. The only problem … the alphabet does not make a square. There are a lot more pieces than seem to fit on this thing, and there are no directions. While it makes sense to Colleen that some of these pieces do not fit – I am lost. Everything should work together, but it doesn’t. Why would you have a bunch of extra pieces? Is that a problem that this irks me?
