Avery has taken a liking to laugh and giggle at me, but not at Colleen. Which is fine and dandy until you point it out incessantly to your wife.
Scott: Don’t you find it funny how Avery laughs at me and not you? (I do not normally recommend a comment like this to the mother of your child).
Colleen: Yes, but it sort of hurts my feelings.
Scott: Why?
Colleen: Because she won’t laugh and smile for me like she does for you.
Scott: Why does that bother you?
Colleen: I don’t know, it just does.
Scott: Just think of it this way. She respects you, loves you, snuggles with you, and will play with you. I am just dad, the silly joke-ster. She laughs at me, not with me.
