Colleen and I had both hoped that Avery would sleep late on Christmas morning after staying up later than normal on Christmas Eve. No such luck.
At around 5:30am we heard the girl talking and squirming in the crib (it is in the same room as we sleep at Colleen’s parents), but we tried to let her talk herself back to sleep. Not to be on Christmas morning, though. It seems knowing that there are gifts downstairs is hard wired into children.
When Colleen and I looked over at the crib from the bed we saw one little happy girl had pulled down the crib bumper and was smiling at us through the railings, ready to be freed from “jail”, and ready for presents!
Stay tuned for more
