With family coming to visit over the Thanksgiving weekend we felt the need to clean. The only problem? We couldn’t. Well, not that we couldn’t, but as with most working parents of a 3 month old we just do not have the time. On top of that, the house had not been cleaned in a really long time (did I mention really long?).

So, Colleen called in the troops. We sucked it up and paid for a professional cleaning. A day after we called, there were four people finding dirt we did not even know existed. Two hours later they were gone, and so was any resemblance of our former residence.

There are many things that I am adamant about not spending money on, and until the other day house cleaning was one of them. Now? I am sold. It is worth every penny in this house.

I used to joke that it was either marriage counseling or a housecleaner (this to resolve the endless debates about who was going to do what around the house, coupled with the ‘but I’m doing MORE’ recitation.)

And what tipped it in favor of the housecleaner was that you got to see visible, tangible results every other week!

Hi, found you linked from childsplay & thought I’d nose around:-)

House cleaning is at the very top of my lists to pay for again when money stops being so tight (ha ha). I used to have someone round once a week before we had kids, and now it’s even more vital!

I know I can do it myself, but to be honest I just don’t – not properly anyway!
