Every parent needs some time away from their child(ren), and Colleen and I are no exception. So, when I learned of the American Royal BBQ and the Rollin’ Blackouts Booth, how could I turn it down. Considering that I had donated 8 cases of Penta, Colleen and I could not, not show up.
So, Colleen picked up the phone and called Grandma in for a few hours of babysitting, and we were free to head out and be normal people, if just for a little while. It was a good time out there at the BBQ, and Colleen and I even were able to take in some things that we have not seen since college – a line for keg beer and a shot luge (actually two of them, the booth dubbed them the "twins").
It was good to get out with Colleen last night and see friends, though I am sure the guys are having a great time in Vegas (for Nate Dusing’s bachelor party – where I could be this weekend).
The best part about the night? The fact that we were away from Avery for 3 hours and Colleen did not call home once.
