If only Avery could have told us that two weeks ago, it would have saved a lot of heartache for everyone. After several days and nights of inconsolable crying, difficulty eating, and tears (not just from Avery), I took Avery to the doctor last week. The diagnosis? Reflux. Turns out her little tummy is making lots of acid and it is coming up her esophagus when she spits up and IT HURTS.

The doctor prescribed Zantac. For babies, this means a sticky, syrupy, minty goop that they have to take 3 times a day. Poor Avery, she hated it so much, she spit most of it out. Besides that, it was not even helping.

Now, as of yesterday, we have a different medicine and a different baby. Thanks to Prevacid, she is happy, cooing, playing, and eating.
