While I was pregnant, friends kept telling me that the pregnancy gods are fair. Everyone has to endure a complication of some sort. I kept waiting for something to hit and it never did… no morning sickness, no complications, fairly easy delivery, etc. Avery is even a GREAT baby – she’s not a crier. (Yet?) I was off scott free – right? Guess again.
Last night, the three of us packed up and headed off to the emergency room. It wasn’t the first field trip that I had in mind for Avery. However, I just could not ignore my shivers, chills and 102 degree fever. The diagnosis? A kidney infection. For my trouble, I left the ER with a prescription for Cipro. Isn’t that what they give anthrax patients?
