I was spending most of today getting a few things done around the house, but I decided to take some time reading articles written during the Maccabiah Games.

By far my favorite was from the Jerusalem Post from July 11 after the 100 Freestyle which included one of my best quotes. Bryan Goldberg, Shai Livnat, and I were being interviewed, and one reporter was very interested in the fact that I looked a little out of shape. While, yes, I was a little out of shape, I did not feel that I really looked it, plus the 100 Free has never been my best event. But this reporter wanted to know all about what I was doing and why I did not win the 100 Free. Out of this conversation came this quote:

Goldblatt, who will celebrate his 26th birthday tomorrow, appeared out of shape and talked about his "different priorities," which do not include swimming. "I’ve been training on and off," he said. "I’ve been busy making a baby and looking for a job. "I may be out of shape, but I bet I can still beat Mark Spitz," he said, laughing.

I would certainly say that that wins the quote of the month right there.
