With 2005′s arrival, it marks the first day without a swimming sponsorship. This may very well mean a new direction for my career after being a part of Team Speedo for the past two years, but is it a reason to stop swimming? Not yet. As a professional, an equipment sponsor is essential, but I am lucky to have The Home Depot, and though they do not make suits, goggles, or kickboards, their support for my swimming and my goals in the sport have been unmatched, allowing me to work 20 hours a week and working around my training schedule. Without The Home Depot, I certainly would not still be getting wet every day. So, it is time to find a sponsor because no one, I mean no one, wants to see me swimming naked every day, though it certainly would be a great publicity stunt.
